Still, what I want in my life is to be willing to be dazzled— to cast aside the weight of facts  and maybe even to float a little above this difficult world. I want to believe I am looking into the white fire of a great mystery.
 I want to believe that the imperfections are nothing— that the light is everything—that it is more than the sum of each flawed blossom rising and falling.
And I do.

EMERGE wrapped up this week with a beautiful group

EMERGE wrapped up this week with a beautiful group of brave humans.
It’s always been such a strange thing to “close” as it’s really a non-closure ordeal.
It’s more of an opening, though not a linear one.

Recovery, and life in general, is an expand and contract kinda gig.
We rupture then repair - we take a massive leap followed by an often challenging recalibration.
We feel certain then unsure, wondering how we were ever so certain.

This natural flux is at odds with our Western productivity mindset that A is followed by B and that all of our steps lead in one direction towards “ happy ever after”, but it’s more of spiral. Things may look familiar, but different.

Certainly we compile wisdom and download new healthier patterns as we snake along but its important to remember that while awareness is vital, we cannot undo a lifetime of conditioning in small doses of understanding.

So we practice. We implement and we learn and embody.
And like any practice, sometimes it’s graceful, often times it’s not.
It’s all part of it.
It all belongs.

There is no perfect balance point, we just keep coming back to center-ish, building a more detailed and skillful map along the way until the harder thing is the easier thing and we begin to rest easier in the world with wider and more tender hearts.
